The company that broke the mould by diversifying from coaching into London bus services and laying the foundation for one of the biggest operators in the country - Arriva.
Grey Green Volvo D10M/Alexander 115
Reflecting the impact that Grey Green had when it took on central London route 24 with a fleet of brand new buses in their striking non-red colours and also acknowledging Grey Green as the seed corn of Arriva, the company chose to present 115 (F115PHM) to the Covent Garden Museum. The occasion on June 14th 2003, was marked by a display in the piaza featuring the Golden Jubilee RT (4712) seen behind 115, the first Wright Gemini bodied DAF DB250LF decker (DW1) and Arriva Midlands North's "Bus of the Future". Volvo 115 had received a full repaint into original Grey Green colours as it finished service with Arriva London.
