Metrobus was one of the first operators of the low floor Optare Excel. This bus is seen with branding to emphasise its low floor credentials in Bromley on the 358.

A rare type is the Alexander Strider bodied Volvo B10B and this 1994 example was acquired secondhand from Whitelaw of Stonehouse for Crawley operations in 2002. It is seen at the 2002 Southsea Spectacular.

M628RNP is a Ford Transit minibus, not intended for passenger service. It is seen at the Greenwich terminus of the 161 and is presumably used for crew transfer. Hopefully Ken Livingstone won't expect it to pick up passengers on its way to and from Orpington! A fleet of around 15 Transits is maintained for crew rotations away from depots.

This Wright Eclipse bodied Scania L94UB demonstrator was at work on Metrobus' 246 route in Bromley in 2003.
