CK Daimler Fleetline CRL6 MCW 52
Cardiff Bus has had its share of competitors since deregulation. One of the first was CK Bus which made its mark with a fleet of former London Transport DMS Fleetlines. They were so iconic in the Welsh capital that the BBC hired one to spend the day in Aylesbury when they were filming a drama at Aylesbury Prison and pretending it was in Cardiff. A passing CK DMS was intended to complete the illusion. Another illusion is taking place here as former DMS1586 (THM586M) is not in Cardiff, or Aylesbury for that matter. The bus had joined the large DMS fleet with Stevensons of Uttoxeter in 1982 who had numbered it 52 and converted it to single door, a speciality of the company. The bus returned to Wales later that year for a four year spell with Clynnog & Trevor.

Wales & the Marches Transport Exhibition Daimler Fleetline NCME KFC379G
Quite how former City of Oxford Northern Counties bodied Daimler Fleetline 379 (KFC379G) was dragooned into becoming a Wales & the Marches mobile transport exhibition is unknown. The National Bus badge on the front panel suggests NBC involvement, and maybe its ultra low height - all Oxford buses ideally have to pass under the city's Botley Road bridge - helped on its tour of designated area. The photo location is unnown, but the AEC Renown behind suggests that it might be at the Cowley Road depot in Oxford rather than in Wales of the Marches.
