Classic vehicles representing the old City of Oxford Motor
Services fleet pose side by side at Showbus 97 in the maroon, red and duck egg green colours.
191 (191AWL) is an unusual AEC Regent V lowbridge Weymann decker sporting the exposed radiator grill
more normally associated with the earlier Regent III model. Alongside is AEC Reliance/Park Royal
756 (756KFC) one of the still minority singledeck vehicles in the Oxford fleet.

Ten years later and 756 was at SHOWBUS again. A beautiful pair of nostalgic BET singledeckers. On the left, Michael Flynn's Weymann bodied 1957 Leyland Tiger Cub, North Western 696 (KDB696) and on the right Neil Tidbury's 1960 Park Royal bodied Reliance, City of Oxford 756 (756KFC).

Outstationed at Stokenchurch was 382 (MJO382H) one of a large Daimler Fleetline fleet with dual door
Northern Counties lowheight bodywork, normally found working in Oxford City. The dual door and low
height always gave them a claustrophobic feeling inside. This picture was taken by a Thames Valley
driver when the vehicle was new. He was clearly impressed with the cab layout - a sharp contrast
to the Bristol FLF which Thames Valley operated at the time!

One of two preserved AEC Regals from the City of Oxford fleet. The fleet has been predominantly
doubledeck until recently, so for two Regals to have survived is remarkable - even more so when
one of them is a coach. City of Oxford only ever had a small coach fleet for private hire until under
National Bus ownership when it took control of South Midland coaches from Thames Valley. This operation
was the nucleus of the current Citylink fleet. 727 (OJO727) is seen on the 1976 Road Run to the
Hillingdon Show Showbus 76.

Another view of 727 a couple of years later on the Hillingdon Show Road Run at Langley.
