First South Yorkshire Volvo Wright B9TL 37518 B7L 60890
In August 2014 the new First identity was well established with repaints of the existing fleet and new Enviro400 and Streetlites delivered in the new colours. Whilst the colours were settled, the fleet name was not, as already noted First South Yorkshire and First Sheffield competed with the original more simple First branding. With the exception of this pair of Wright bodied Volvos, all the buses on this page exhibit the new style of fleetname with just the name Sheffield. The block letters include a pictogram of the city skyline within the letters. On the left is B9TL 37518 (YN58ETE) and on the right another ex First York B7L, 60890 (YJ51RHK).

First South Yorkshire Wright Streetlite Micro Hybrid 63135
With both First South Yorkshire and Sheffield branding, Streetlite 63135 (SN14DWJ) also heavily promotes its green Micro Hybrid credentials - and wifi. It is on layover in the Sheffield Interchange.

First Sheffield Alexander Dennis Enviro400 33858
Sister vehicle 33858 (SL14DFD) was parked on the Olive Grove depot forecourt and the buses were due to enter service on route 52 before the end of the month. Unlike the Streetlites they combine simple First branding with the block Sheffield fleetnames.

First South Yorkshire Volvo B9TL Wright 37495
Further complicating the fleet branding are the Wright Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL on the X78, which link First South Yorkshire's main operating bases of Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster. A block X78 fleetname appears on the side with simple First branding on 37495 (YN08PLO) in Sheffield Interchange.
