Two buses with interesting tales attached were displayed at the Golden Jubilee SHOWBUS in 2002. On the left is Wright bodied Volvo B7L 939 (MV02DVR) delivered earlier that year to First Manchester as their 764. By 2014 the bus was sporting new First livery with First Rotherham branding. On the right is former Southampton City East Lancs bodied Leyland Olympian 295 (F295PTP) which having been transferred to First South Yorkshire in Doncaster was treated to a commemorative Doncaster Corporation livery.

First South Yorkshire Volvo B9TL Wright Rotherham 1431
In 2014 First painted several buses in Manchester and Sheffield in liveries of its various municipal predecessors. First South Yorkshire Wright bodied Volvo B9TL 37231 (YN08LCL) was painted in Rotherham Corporation colours and even given a typical Rotherham fleet number - 1431. The bus was also named in honour of Peter Drury, a former First Rotherham driver who died at the wheel of his bus in a head on collision with a wreckless truck driver. It is seen at the Hertfordshire Showground Classic Bus event in June 2014.
