First West of England are celebrating 30 years of Badgerline. Badgerline was formed in the lead up to privatisation based on the non Bristol city operations of Bristol Omnibus. The company expanded rapidly through acquisitions across the country and badgers appeared on operations from Lands End to Southend. The group became keen supporters of SHOWBUS and that continued when the company merged with GRT Holdings to form what has become First. Wright bodied Volvo B7RLE 66726 gained the bright Badgerline livery and was seen on display at last Sunday's Bristol bus rally alongside the "poo" powered ADL Enviro300 bodied Scania with the appropriate YT13YUK registration. The guys from First West of England have promised to bring 66726 to SHOWBUS next month.
