Many thanks to Red Rose for our Picture of the Week of their Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TL in Bicester on their new service from Aylesbury. Red Rose is 25 years old this year and in its earlier days it held the Bucks County Council contract for the Bicester-Aylesbury service, operated for many years by its historic predecessor Red Rover. The new service offers a regular express working to Bicester Shopping Village as well as the traditional service through the villages. Two former London General deckers have been acquired for the service, the capacity needed on school journeys in and out of Aylesbury though deckers cannot be used between Launton and Marsh Gibbon due to a lowbridge. This used to be London General PVL95 (W495WGH). Those of you heading to SHOWBUS in September may get to ride on the bus as it may well be taking part in the event.
