First Beeline Alexander Dennis Enviro400MMC 34383
Beeline is back! When Alder Valley was split by the NBC into its original two halves: Aldershot & District and Thames Valley, the latter named it self the Berks Bucks Bus Company and adopted a yellow livery and the fleetname Beeline. When the Slough area operations were acquired by Centrewest the name lingered on until First barbie colours took over, even then there was a brief revival of Beeline branding in Bracknell and the colours endured on graphics in the Bracknell Bus Station loos even after Raeding Buses swooped in and reverted to Themes Valley branding. First's Slough based operation is undergoing a transformation, whilst a start had been made on standardising on First colours with a Berkshire logo and blue front, displaced two tone red Wright Streetlites from Southampton have been running around with "CityRed" logos and Enviro400s from First Glasgow have added to the mix. The paintwork is crystallising and the Enviros at least are emerging in this orange and black livery with Beeline fleetnames and logos from yesteryear. Whilst the route branding seems specific to the main Heathrow 7 service the Enviros are regulars now on the X74 from Slough to Heathrow and checking the First website all reference to Berkshire has been replaced by the Bee! Come and see for yourself on SHOWBUSflyby day when the X74 will be buzzing along the route between Loudwater and High Wycombe Bus Station on Sunday 18th June.
