Whilst the headlines this week have been all about the heatwave, down on the South Coast, where one might normally expect the heat, it was much cooler and wet! On Thursday First Hampshire & Dorset Scania Omnidekka 36003 (YN04GNY) in Jurassic Coast livery reaches a key destination on the X31 Dorchester to Axminster service. Oddly that day a Volvo B7RLE was used on one of the short workings between Weymouth and Lyme Regis on the X53 and went off with a standing load, while Jurassic Coast liveried deckers were plying the Weymouth - Portland service. The mist and rain however deprived passengers of any of the views they might have been denied by the lack of top deck seats. The X53 is the main Jurassic Coast service linking Poole with Exeter.
