Keighley Festival of Transport, hosted by Keighley Bus Museum and Keighley & Worth Valley Railway with display of heritage buses and historic lorries at Ingrow Railway Centre. Classic cars and light commercials on display at Oxenhope railway station. Integrated service (09.00-17.45) of heritage buses (incluing open top) and trains (including vintage stock) linking Keighley, Ingrow, Haworth and Oxenhope with joint ticketing. Over 200 buses and coaches on display. Marking 50 years of Routemaster production. Special rally limited edition model bus. Transport bazaar with wide variety of stands. Real ale beer tent. Refreshments provided by Kate’s Kitchen. Vintage bus services to/from Epping Central Line station, Ongar for Epping-Ongar Railway. Haverhill, Suffolk. New location for Historic Commercial Vehicle Society East Anglia Rally and Road Run held previously at Ridgewell and supported by Eastern National Preservation Society. New town centre car park site has hard standing so low risk of event being rained off.

Alton Running Day & Bus Rally. Vehicle display and transport bazaar at Anstey Park, Alton, Hants. 10.00-17.00. Free bus service from rally site to Alton, Alresford and Medstead & Four Marks stations to complement Mid Hants Watercress Line train service and to local destinations. Free connecting buses from Basingstoke, Staines, Guildford and Farnham. An enhanced train service will also run with two locos in steam complemented by a diesel multiple unit shuttle between Alresford and Medstead & Four Marks.

Ipswich Transport Museum Engineering Day. Celebration of local firms including Ransomes, which built trolleybuses. Special displays and free bus tours of the old engineering sites of Ipswich. 11.00-16.00. Reunion of former employees in the afternoon.

Leeds 2009, Elland Road Stadium (5 min from city centre by bus/M621 junc 2). Celebrates 50 years since the end of Leeds trams, 40 years since the first Leeds jumbo 33ft deckers, 35 years since the end of Leeds City Trnsport and the birth of West Yorks PTE, 25 years since the end of Charles H Roe, 15 years since Badgerline bought Yorkshire Rider and 5 years since the formation of the Transport Yorkshire Preservation Group which is organising Leeds 2009 (looks like we may have to wait 5 years for the next one!) JULY 26
Cambridge.Classic & Vintage Bus Day, starts 11.00. Museum of Technology, Cheddars Lane. It is also hoped to run a free shuttle service between the museum and city centre and a coach trip to the Stetham Steam Engine and Prickwillow Pumping Engine Museums. Owing to limited space vehicle entry is by invitation only, with preference given to vehicles with a Cambridge connection.
