 One year the Red Rover entered the Bus Driver of the Year competition and a regional round was conducted in the Red Rover yard involving their and United Counties. More space was available at the Red Rover depot. The buses used were mainly Leyland Nationals, common to both companies, though 140 was used too. Ex Nottingham Nationals are dotted around the yard and the one with its back to us is part of the proceedings. The Routemaster at the back of the yard with Nottingham AEC Renown is an RMA used for staff transport to Aldenham Works
