Former London United RML2697 (SMK697F) was withdrawn in 2004 and quickly headed north to Glasgow spending its time on Scottish Travel's tours of the city. Whether that career had come to an end was not clear in August 2012 when it had been commandeered by what appears to be a Brazilian TV company for work in connection with the Olympics. It is seen parked in east London. It was unclear if it was on temporary secondment from Scottish Travel or not.

Another Routemaster on Olympic work was Ensignbus' RM371 (WLT371) seen at Marble Arch in a special wrap for the appropriately named BUSCO who were outfitters for the Spanish Olympic team, presumably their Olympic strip did not have Routemaster decorations!

Ensignbus' RM371 is seen in its more normal guise on a jolly to The Derby on Epsom Downs in June 2010. The bus has an interesting past having been withdrawn from service in the capital in 1995 spending most of its time working out of Shepherds Bush depot. It started a new Scottish career with Kelvin Scottish as their 1910 until sold for preservation in 1993. It stayed in Glasgow and oddly got painted gold and named the Golden Retriever well before the Golden Jubilee in 2002. In fact it moved to Mac Tours in Edinburgh in 1996 who removed the roof in 2001. In 2003 it ws painted in their yellow and blue livery for tours encompassing the Royal Yacht Britannia. Ensignbus acquired it in 2009.
