Southdown Bristol VRTSL6G ECW 510
Early flat front Mark I model VR, 510, is seen again, this time operating services at the Alton Bus Rally in July 2000. The bus appeared at Showbus at Duxford whilst with its subsequent owner, Elseys of Gosberton, in their blue and white livery, before appearing again, as seen earlier, fully restored in 2009.
 
Southdown-BH&D Bristol VRTSL6G ECW 528
From a later batch, 527-541 delivered to Southdown, is 528 (WUF528K). These were dual door buses intended for Brighton services with Southdown-BH&D fleetnames. VR 528 is seen just outside Pool Valley. When ten years old 528 and nine of the batch were transferred to Bristol Omnibus
 
Southdown Daimler Fleetline Northern Counties 378 Bristol VRTSL6G ECW 528
Southdown's first new buses once free of NBC control were Northern Counties bodied Daimler Fleetlines back in traditional apple green and cream. Fleetline 378 (TCD378J) is seen overtaking VR 528 outside Pool Valley. The Fleetline later passed to Crosville and ended its days with being converted to a "Happy Dragon" open topper for Crosville Wales.

Another bus with Southdown-BH&D fleetnames was this old image of a former Brighton, Hove & District Bristol Lodekka.

Seen working a special service at the Bluebell Railway during the NBC era was VRTSL6G 500 (SCD500H).
