Thamesdown adopted a trade name for its town routes of Dartline. Appropriately
enough here is a line of Dartline Darts at the Corporation Street depot.

This smart step entrance Dart is in a special livery for Great Western Trains, in
the days before First Great Western.

Thamesdown is not adverse to purchasing
vehicles secondhand - we have already seen the ex East Staffs Dominator and others
of their breed came later from London & Country. Even old Bournemouth Fleetlines
have been acquired as school buses and appropriately kept yellow. Not branded
as Dartline, a useful batch of step entrance Darts was acquired from Isle of Man
Road Services as they reverted to doubledeck operations. This one is seen at
Millennium Showbus.

Another secondhand bus. 143 (R317NGM) is a Dennis Dart SLF acquired via
Ensignbus from Kent operator King's Ferry. The bus however had been intended
for London tendered operations when new and had been ordered by Q-Drive, the parent
company of Limebourne. At the time of delivery, Limebourne went out of business
and their operatiosn passed to Connex, though the batch of new Plaxton Pointer
bodied SLF Darts did not.
