Services in south west London and the Surrey borders have changed hands many times. The routes have their roots in the operations of Capital Logistics and Tellings Golden Miller. National Express bought these and the French Connex operation to form Travel London and Travel Surrey. When the recession hit National Express found its optimistic growth of its new North East rail franchise put it in severe financial difficulties and it temporarily improved its bank balance by selling its London and Surrey operations to the Dutch state railway company NedRail (NS). They have adopted the name Abellio for its UK bus operations, the same name they use for their German bus subsidiary. The Dutch railway logo appears alongside the fleetname.

Abellio has retained the separate image of the Surrey operations with its mostly white livery as seen on Dennis Dart 8084 on layover at Heathrow Central Bus Station on June 5th 2010.
