Lowbridge KS/ECW charges around Southampton
in 1966 - notice the sun visor over the cab on 1281 (KEL 724). Not so obvious is that this KS model
was fitted with an 8 feet wide body, standard fitment on the wider KSW chassis.

Beautifully restored
and lovingly cared for is this ECW bodied Bristol MW6G of Hant & Dorset. It is seen at the 98 Bristol
rally. The lack of destination blinds reflects its original use on excursions and tours. The style of bodywork
was short lived (compared to the earlier MW coach body which dated back to the LS era. A similar
style was used on the longer RELH model and was sustained on that for much longer.

Rare Portsmouth Aviation bodywork adorns Hants & Dorset Bristol
LL5G 779. ECW bodies would be much more familiar. A number of the Portsmouth Aviation bodies
were replaced by unusual fully fronted ECW bodies in later years, many with specially cut away
rear ends for use on the Sandbanks ferry service - 779 escaped this fate. It is seen arriving at Showbus 97.

Place, the Southampton Hants & Dorset depot which Stagecoach sold for supermarket redevelopment
soon after acquisition of what by then had become Hampshire Bus.

677 (KEL405) is a rebuilt Bristol L chassis, which has been given a full front ECW body, in the style
of that fitted to the rare breed of new SC4LK coaches. Thames Valley had some Ls similarly rebodied
too, whilst theirs originally had Wndover coachwork, Hants & Dorset's (and Wilts & Dorset too) had
Ls with Portsmouth Aviation coach bodies. The H&D batch also featured cut away rear ends to cope
with the ramp when travelling on the Sandbanks ferry.
