Thames Valley D9 (BRX142B) met with an unfortunate accident when in service later
with Alder Valley. Having lost its roof in its encounter with a filling statio, I
recall, it was despatched to the Isle of Wight where Southern Vectis made use of
it as a permanent open topper. It is seen at Windsor Station on the Windsor local
service in Thames Valley days.

...and here is D9, as 641 in the Alder Valley fleet, having just lost its roof and squirreled away out of sight in Reading depot.

Seen in the main Denver shopping mall is a former Southern Vectis LD in use as a ticket sales booth. Passing by is one of a fleet of low floor singledeckers of novel construction (the engine is mounted transverse behind the driver!). These buses operate a continuous frequent and free service from one end of the shopping mall to the other. |
