A nice selection of preserved United Counties vehicles at EFE Showbus 98.
Nearest the camera is former RELL 319 in NBC green and white, followed by a pair of LWLs, 862 & 426.

261 (GRP261D) is seen at Hartley Witney when quite new on route to Exeter on behalf of Royal Blue.

RELL 315 is seen when new on layover outside the
now closed Aylesbury depot. The bus spent many years at Aylesbury, whilst it is no longer there the
depot is still in use as a car park. The bus fleet - now part of Arriva the Shires - has moved to an
industrial estate unit on the northern edge of town (Smeaton Close, Rabans Lane).

Undoubtedly a star of EFE Showbus 1999 was the Leyland G7 Charabus of Mike Sutcliffe, painstakingly restored
in its original United Counties garb of the 1920s and making a good contrast with all the UC pictures.
