The Thames Valley fleet was partially renumbered not long before the merger
with Aldershot & District to produce Alder Valley. Thus this long serving
Bristol LS6B suddenly became honoured with the distinctive fleet number, 100 (HBL79).
The bus is seen on route 80 in Great Kimble, where it was known as the "little
bus". Its Aylesbury - High Wycombe route winded through the villages, as opposed
to the main Aylesbury - Wycombe service through Kimble along the main road
(currently the 323/324 but variously the 30/30A, 21/21A or 20/20A over the
last 50 years). The bus is seen passing "Joycelyn", my late grandparents' home,
I was a frequent traveller on the "little bus".

Bristol LS6B 678 (HBL80) is seen on a short working of route 31 to Walters Ash,
sight of RAF Strike Command. The 323/324 service mentioned above was formed by
linking the 31 service through Walters Ash and Lacey Green to the Wycombe -
Aylesbury main road service just south of Pinces Risborough. The abandoned
Wycombe - Saunderton - Risborough section became a less frequent service
and in recent years was interworked with the Wycombe - Thame routes, once
operated by City of Oxford.

The LS was popular in Newbury for many years. This pair is seen at Newbury Wharf.
